Crispin does it fast again?

February 15, 2006

Not bad … needs a little work on the FLV video compression, but overall another home run for Crispin.

check out:

VW has created a microsite that dovetails with the car’s new icon at “Phase One Beta” of the site featured a German-accented male narrator asking 11 multiple-choice questions about defining “fast” while a black mercury-looking blob undulated. Now in phase three, the blob morphs into the fast character as the same narrator explains how the GTI will “make your fast happy.” VW saw 40,000 people opt in after the first phase, a VW dealer said.

Verizon Wireless CMO John Stratton sets things straight!

February 15, 2006

Last week CMO of Verizon Wireless (John Stratton) laid down some nice thoughts on what will soon become a reality for most ad agencies…

“Your clients are absolutely in trouble and they are looking for you to save them.”

“What you’ve been selling for the last 50 years no longer works.”

“Major marketing money is going to be in motion in the next decade and no one really yet understands exactly where it will land, if it even will land, or if it will just disappear altogether.”

“Before they figure out where to put their money, your marketer clients will hire and fire agency after agency, seeking someone, anyone, who can tell them where they might go next.”

“CMO average tenure, already famously brief, will get even shorter as CEOs begin to recognize how much money they are blowing on antiquated media plans.”

“Your marketer clients are really seeking one thing and one thing only: an audience for the message they are trying to convey to the market place.”

“But your clients actually need more than just an audience. One of the consequences of the evolution of our media-delivery systems over the last 10 years is that the audience you do ultimately find is much less receptive to the message you’re trying to send. They are absolutely armed and ready to get to the content they want while avoiding the message you are trying to implant within it.”

“They need much more than an audience. They need an audience that cares about what they have to say. They need their message to be relevant to the audience they are saying it to.”

Flast Cast! The future of mobile portals.

January 15, 2006

I have been designing GUI/UE for 5 years now and I witness and assisted in what Adobe has accomplished with high end media experiences. I strongly believe the same shift is making its way in the mobile market.

Just as web users witnessed heavy Java Applets, Windows and RealPlayer’s death with the introduction of Flash Motion based applications and FLV video. Mobile devices will soon see J2ME, BREW, and C++ entertainment based applications / games move towards a Flash Lite model.

Flash will not stop with just mobile devices, the rich GUI/UE experience Flash Lite can offer will penetrate into all digital devices that demand the end users attention.

With the introduction of FLASH CAST (FLASH CAST) mobile users will truly experience OTA ( direct to consumer ) entertaining purchasing environments.
